Advice geared more for those NOT on a softball team 

and/or anyone that works out alone...

When training isn't play

"We "play" sports. We don't "play" fitness training. 

"Actually working out is mostly boring and few people really enjoy it. They enjoy the benefits but so much the process. 

"How can we make working out a bit more fun and enjoyable? "

Buddy up. 

"Our moods, habits, and levels of performance naturally gravitate to the people with whom we spend the most time. This is particularly true in elite sport. 

"Cultivate a network of workout buddies who are positive and enjoy pushing themselves. You will work harder, have more fun, be more motivated and miss a lot less."

BE PATIENT OR AGGRESSIVE?

Be  patient or aggressive?

"You have to consider the pitcher, the score, the number of outs, the count, whether there are runners on the bases, the type of batter you are, the importance of the game, etc...

"Be aggressive but selective.

"Assume that every pitch is your pitch. The key is to be ready to capitalize on any pitcher’s mistake but yet to be able to hold on if the pitch is not right.

"Wayne Gretzky said it best: "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take". Essentially, when you're at the plate, you are the offensive player and to make something happen, you've to take the bat off your shoulders.

"Just don't be an easy out for the pitchers going after everything."

KARINA'S FALL BREAK

Southern Florida
Karina takes fall break
for quality family time

Wesley Wolverines usually journey to South Florida for the big vacation.

Except one. That player treks to the Sunshine State for family time. It's her home!

Freshman #2 3B/SS Karina Cardona lives in Cooper City, a few miles south of Fort Lauderdale's premier beaches and north of Hollywood's popular oceanfront promenade. The vast, unparalleled National Everglades are west of her, almost at her doorstep.

Karina is back in Delaware today for fall classes. She brought with her wonderful photos of her time spent with her close family over these past four days during Wesley College's fall break. Her pictures are posted below...
