Samantha Burns at bowling lanes,
working Delaware Special Olympics
The Wesley Wolverines softball team has hosted Special Olympic fastpitch camps and games in past years.
But that is the "in season" in the spring months. During the cold days of January, you have to turn that small softball into a heavy bowling ball and watch junior #4 IF Samantha Burns (Magnolia, DE) step forward for a Special Olympics game of ten pins.
More than 1,500 Delaware athletes take part annually in bowling tournaments across the state during the first nine weeks of the new year.
Pictured below is Samantha with a few of the bowlers on the lanes this Saturday morning at Brunswick Doverama in Dover, DE. Samantha works the event with her mom and has been volunteering her services many times over the years since she was a child.
"Had an absolutely amazing and wonderful time with these amazing athletes," she said.
