As most fans know, the Wesley Wolverines will play in the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic, North Myrtle Beach, SC, March 4 - 11, 2017.

The Classic with its 90+ college teams will not be the only softball games in town that week.

About 27 miles west of this DIII tournament is the Charles Wade-John Lott Softball Field, Conway, SC, home of the DI Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.

The Chanticleers plan a full week of fastpitch action, as well.

Lots of softball at Myrtle this Spring

There will be a dozen or more DI softball games played on the Chanticleers' field while the Wolverines do battle at the Central Park Sports Complex. Now you don't want to miss a single Wesley inning, but there should be plenty of opportunity for dedicated fastpitch fans to steal away to a Coastal Carolina contest or two.

Why Coastal Carolina is a  special team

The Chanticleers are a special team for our Wesley Wolverines. First, because this is the DI home team for North Myrtle Beach where the Wolverines have played spring games for many years, almost annually.

Second -- MOST IMPORTANTLY -- there is a star Chanticleer that has been traveling with the Wolverines since last year. She is Assistant Coach Brooke Donovan. Brooke holds the Coastal Carolina University's record for most fastpitch games played by a Chanticleer -- a total of 234!! Third, no true softball fan wants to miss an opportunity to visit the Coastal Carolina softball stadium. It is ranked among the nation's upper echelon of baseball-softball combined facilities. Many have even deemed the fields as "the best overall".
